Albania Christmas
Christmas is always a wonderful time of year for
missionaries to have outreaches. During Christmas week of
2006, missionaries David and Sue Hartmann, along with their
children (Josiah, Jolie and Nathan) took part in three
separate Christmas events. These 3 events took place in
Tirana, the capital city of Albania. David and Sue solicited
help from many people: the entire staff of Radio 7, World
Vision, two local grade school choirs, local missionary kid's
school, members of Tirana Assembly of God and several children
from one of the local orphanages.

The first event took place in the dining hall
of a large hotel just outside Tirana. It was a wonderful
blessing that the hotel not only donated the room, but also
decorations. There was entertainment provided by a local
school choir, children from the orphanage, missionary kids,
and even a bell choir. The evening concluded with the children
receiving Samaritan's Purse gift boxes.
What a help it was when Radio 7 invited families to attend
second Christmas event. This celebration also included music
and drama. The Hartmann's were excited to see several city
government officials attending this festivity along with their
children.
The
final outreach blessed patients at the children's hospital.
Gift boxes were given to each child and Christmas carols were
sung door to door. There was also an opportunity for the bell
choir to perform again for those children that could be moved
into a meeting room. Everyone sang more Christmas carols and a
short Christmas message was given.
The missionaries were amazed that so many people from several
different groups were successful at working together for the
common goal of winning the lost to Jesus. David and Sue pray
there will be more events planned in the future. In order for
this to happen, they ask for prayer over the next several
months of planning, and for people with giving hearts to be
generous in order to assist in the costs such outreaches
require. Also, please pray that the Lord will continue to call
and equip the much needed volunteers.
