Teacher Training in Gexto, Spain

Red and yellow, black and white they are precious in His sight... can you remember the first time you sang these words?

Many of us can remember a Sunday School teacher who impacted our young hearts and set us on the path to where we are today.  That is exactly why missionaries, Alister and Lindy Belbin, hosted their first Teacher’s Training Seminar in the new church plant, Centro Cristiano in Getxo, Spain.

The Belbins invited Gil and Gladys Rodriguez, experienced children’s ministry trainers, to Getxo where Gladys taught and shared with the 15 Sunday School teachers. It was a miracle that 15 attended due to a cyclone that had come through that day. The teachers enjoyed it from start to finish:  prizes, games, class outline ideas, Q&A sessions, and other helpful ideas were presented.  The seminar went so well, another is planned in the Fall with attendance expected to double. One teacher commented, “I’m so glad I didn’t miss this workshop. It was excellent! I’m already using some of the ideas that were presented.”

God is using men and women around the world to impact the next generation.  Please take a moment and pray for the children and churches in the Getxo area. Please pray for more workers with a heart for kids. There are about 1000 children within a five minute walk of the Belbin’s church. What an opportunity and challenge!
